- Hi, all. I'm looking for a semi-complete list of TCP vendors who
- provide a winsock.dll stack (along with their TCP product). My
- employer is working on a "Winsock-compliant" product, and would like
- to actually test it with as many vendors' winsock.dll's as possible.
-
- I know of several that are pretty well-known, and I can look through
- magazines and so on. I'm just wondering what you folks use and have
- heard of. If you don't mind, drop me a note (send email or post it --
- I'll get it either way) and let me know what package you use or have
- used, so I can add it to my list.
-
- If this sort of thing interests anyone else, I'll be glad to post the
- results.
-
- Thanks!

- Subject: Winsock can't resolve host
-
- I can't seem to get winsock to resolve hosts. Every application (Eudora, FTP,
- Finger) sends me a nasty message after spending a lot of time trying to
- resolve the host. Interestingly, the first time I started winsock I did
- connect to the POP server and sent mail. However, nothing else has worked
- since then. I am at a loss to understand the problem. I am using a dial-up
- connection to my host and have confirmed that all of the IP data is right.
- my host assigned a permanent IP number and when I select TRACE I see that
- winsock gets that correctly.
-
- Please, please help!
